Would you like to see Conor McGregor fight Khabib Nurmagomedov again?
No.
At least, not right now. He needs to come back to MMA first and fight a few fights before he starts going after gold again.
While McGregor went off to make his money and test himself in boxing, the sport and the fighters in the divisions left waiting for him evolved. He did not because he had to focus on boxing one of the best boxers in recent history.
Meanwhile, former opponents of his that he has wins over not only got better but became champions in the divisions McGregor held claim to. Max Holloway is the current champion of the featherweight division and Dustin Poirier was interim champ before losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov last September.
All that happened while McGregor was focusing on his whiskey business and legal troubles. When McGregor addressed his issues and said he was still interested in fighting, he said he would face Frankie Edgar and that a potential bout with Justin Gaethje was on the table for July.
The July bout didn’t happen because he injured his hand and while he expressed interest in fighting before the end of the year, it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen.
