Will MMA ever be bigger than boxing?

Some argue that it already is. However, when you look at pay-per-view records and ratings reports boxing still draws. I think a lot of folks forget how long boxing has been the featured combat sport of choice when they compare the two.

My opinion is because of its longevity, boxing will be hard to topple especially with their mega-events like Ruiz/Joshua 2. Maybe when the Ali-Act is extended to MMA and MMA fighters make the same as boxers that will happen because “cross-promotion” right now seems to be rare in MMA and boxing does it all the time.

When MMA does do it like Bellator and RIZIN did this year, it seems to only help the growth of the sport. Boxing has been having champions fight champions for a while now and it’s always just a “what-if” conversation in MMA.
