Belal Muhammad whose fight name is “Remember the Name” seems to have put a stamp on his career with his decision to win the welterweight title. Muhammad earns his sixth straight victory in the UFC for a title shot that was long overdue. Before defeating Edwards, Muhammad picked up wins over Gilbert Burns, Vicente Luque, Stephen Thompson, and Demiam Maia, all after his first meeting with Edwards which was a no-contest due to an accidental eye-poke. He was shelved from this shot for a long time, but at the end of the day, title shots are earned with wins, not social media antics. Congratulations to Belal Muhammad.

In the co-main event, Tom Aspinall cemented his legacy as the man who will eventually fight for the undisputed heavyweight title. Aspinall knocked out Curtis Blaydes in the first round and immediately called out Jon Jones again in his post-fight interview. Aspinall said, “Hello Jon. I have nothing against you personally, but I just think I’m better than you. I just know I can beat you in a fight so I’m coming for it.”
