Picking Up Martial Arts in The New Year

It’s not just gyms that will be full in January

I did a gi review for folks looking to start doing Brazilian Jiu-jitsu (BJJ)in 2024. It was for the Elite Sports “core” model, a great starter gi for folks beginning their BJJ journey this year. If you want to check it out, you can here.

Then, after that, I got an alert on Quora asking, “Do you like martial arts? What style, and why would one choose the style you do?”

I assumed the person asking, is asking because they want to start training in 2024 but they aren’t sure where to start. I remember when I was in my early teens, working on getting my driver's license thumbing through the Yellow Pages to find martial arts schools I could get to once I started driving. There were Kendo schools, a few Aikido schools, lots of Tae Kwon Do and karate.

The funny thing was, I found a kickboxing school I could walk to after all that research.

But the Quora question made me think, the asker is probably at that same point. They want to start…
