Here are my UPDATED picks for UFC 279
**Updated with new picks because of the last-minute card change!
Well, after a canceled press conference we’re here at UFC 279 fight week. It’s funny how drama like having to cancel a press conference raises interest for an event, but people like watching the chaos as long as it doesn’t affect them. As of now, no fights have been removed from the main card, so here are my picks with some odds for UFC 279.
The odds posted are from Draft Kings the UFC website as of 9/9.
**Nate Diaz vs Tony Ferguson
This is allegedly the last fight on Diaz’s contract.
Both guys are cardio machines and both are black belts in jiu-jitsu. Usually, when two grapplers face-off, they test their striking. See, Gracie versus Yamauchi from Bellator 284 for reference.
Diaz’s boxing is probably one of the best MMA-centric boxing out there, so if he has an edge, that’s his against Ferguson. But speaking of “edges”, Ferguson has some of the sharpest elbows in the UFC, add that to his wrestling and he’s got the ingredients to get a stoppage due to cuts.
