Time is Undefeated in MMA
Old Lion vs Young Lion
This week I got to speak with two pro-MMA fighters. One is young and at the early stages of his career and another, a 40-year-old fighter who is already thinking about his exit plan. It’s crazy to see the outlook of two athletes of basically the same skill who have different views of time because of their age.
Tim Eschtruth is a 40-year-old, second-degree black belt in Judo who fell into fighting to test his skills, faces(d) 25-year-old Mando Gutierrez, who came short on his shot at Dana White’s Contender Series and want to move past the loss to hopefully get another shot into the UFC.
What I wrote and submitted for the two interviews I did got edited out and they merged it into one piece. So, I wanted to write about what stuck with me from both conversations here.
