Bellator 270, UFC in NYC, and Canelo’s Undisputed Status

Bellator 270

Bellator went back to Dublin last week and while the local fighters in Peter Queally and James Gallagher didn’t have their way, the event as a whole was fantastic. Pedro Carvahlo also managed to get back in the win column after having a rough patch of two losses, but it was a plus for him to get back there where his home gym is.

Patricky “Pitbull” Freire is the new lightweight champion in Bellator as his brother relinquished the title and stepped aside to let his brother shine in the main event that was rematch against Queally.

Bellator 270 was a great way to lead into SHOWTIME’s weekend with the pay-per-view that would have Saul “Canelo” Alvarez defeat Caleb Plant to become the first Undisputed Super World Middleweight Champion.
