Kayla Harrison: “I’m Going to Beat Cris Cyborg if She Comes to The PFL”
I initially wrote this for Sherdog, but since people chase stories and some are faster than others, (or in this case me) I didn’t want it to go to waste. Plus it sucks when you take the time to write something, then it doesn’t get used. So, here’s the piece, I hope you like it.
Kayla Harrison has not been shy about wanting to face Cris “Cyborg” Justino but with the news of Cyborg becoming a free agent, it seems not only are other promotions interested but so are other fighters. Harrison has been mentioning Cyborg since the PFL started and with a division of 155 pounds, Cyborg’s free agency makes that seem more likely.
Harrison had first mentioned an interest in fighting Cyborg last year and clarified how a fight with Cyborg would be a good test. “Listen, I’m not an idiot,” Harrison told media at the PFL 2018 open workouts, “I know cyborg has a lot more experience than me, I know that she’s the best in the world right now.” Harrison, at the time, thought a fight with her would be a good way to measure where she is at in rounding out her MMA.
